Communicating through the fog

Do you think of yourself as a clear communicator?

Where do you like to connect with your audience?

Do you like to write newsletters? Do video tutorials? Post to social media?

Where does your audience connect with you best? Is that where you post the most?

I have to say that I took a detour the last few years and it wasn’t great.

I’ve always written a good newsletter but I lured in by the glitter of social media for a while and it was hell. My audience wasn’t very good at Instagram so it made sharing a challenge. Then I reluctantly tried a private Facebook group and hated every minute of it.

I enjoy writing, sharing photos, telling little stories and talking about my products in emails and blog posts. I can do video, I like being on camera but it’s not easy for me to keep up with a regular schedule.

I’ve spent the last five or six years trying to fit social media into my audience when all I should have done was cut through that fog and kept going with what I do best.
